Products and Handmade Variations

Each Betsey Carter Ceramics piece is handmade in Los Angeles from high-fired stoneware or porcelain and fired in a gas-reduction kiln. Small variations in color, glaze movement, texture, speckling, markings, dimensions, weight, symmetry, and firing effects are inherent to the materials and making process. Product photographs are representative, and screen settings may also affect color. These natural variations make each piece unique and are not defects. Please review the photographs, dimensions, and product description carefully before purchasing, and contact us with any questions.

Functional pieces are finished with food-safe glazes and are microwave- and dishwasher-safe unless the individual product description states otherwise. Hand-washing is recommended as the gentlest care option. Decorative pieces should be used only as described in the product listing.

Orders, Availability, and Pricing

All orders are subject to acceptance and product availability. We may correct pricing, descriptive, or availability errors, cancel an affected order, and refund any amount paid. Prices are shown in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise. California sales tax and any other applicable taxes are calculated at checkout based on the shipping destination.

Payment

Online checkout is handled securely by Stripe. Payment-card information is submitted directly to the connected processor and is not intentionally viewed or stored by Betsey Carter Ceramics.

Custom and Made-to-Order Items

Custom or personalized pieces are final sale once work has begun, except where required by law or if the item arrives damaged or materially differs from the approved specifications. Made-to-order pieces have a longer processing time. Inquiries should be made to betsey@betseycarter.com.

Shipping, Returns, and Damaged Orders

Shipping, return, cancellation, and transit-damage rules are stated in our Shipping & Returns Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

Acceptable Use and Intellectual Property

The site and its text, photographs, designs, logos, and other content are owned by or licensed to Betsey Carter Ceramics and may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, or used commercially without written permission. You may not interfere with the site, attempt unauthorized access, submit unlawful or infringing content, or use the site in a way that harms us or others.

Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site and products are provided “as is” and “as available,” except for warranties that cannot be disclaimed. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free site operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from a purchase will not exceed the amount you paid for the product giving rise to the claim. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law.

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by California law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, please contact us at betsey@betseycarter.com so we can try to resolve the issue informally. Any required legal venue will be in Los Angeles County, California, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
